1. Topic-specific words:

hypothalamus /ˌhaɪpəˈθæləməs/ - podwzgórze
A region in mind which controls hunger, thirst.
  • People do not know that the feeling of being hungry is regulated by the part of our mind called hypothalamus.
  • It's difficult to show where the hypothalamus is located with a 100% precision.

metabolism - digestion
The chemical processes which occur within a living organism to maintain a life.
  • If you want to accelerate your metabolism you should drink a glass of hot water with lemon juice every morning.
  • The key to success with diet is to have a moderate metabolism.
famine (it' about a shortage of the food, a situation, deaths caused by starvation) vs 
hunger (after a short period without food) vs
starvation (longer time of scarcity o the food)
  • One of the tactics applies during battles was to force people to stay in the castle and cut off their food supplies so that after a few days of hunger their start to suffer from starvation at the end of which they die of famine.                     
food binge - orgy, overeating
A period of excessive indulgence in an activity, e.g. eating or drinking.
  • Food binge is the most common effect of eating not enough amounts of food. 
  • People who have problems with food binge should consult it with doctor.
disorder - illness, disease
An illness that disrupts normal physical or mental functions.
  • Many of disorders among the elderly are caused by their age condition.
  • When you suffer from leg or hand disorder you must contact your GP very fast unless you want to lose your limb.
